Vladimir SAI

Was born in 1977. Lives and works in Kiev. In 1997 he graduated from the Kiev art and industrial College [school of painting], and in 2005 the National Academy of Arts and Architecture [faculty of graphics]. Participated in many solo and group projects, among which — the First Kyiv international Biennale ARSENALE 2012, “ART KYIV contemporary”, “Great sculpture salon”, a project “Fly”. Mr Sy works at the crossroads of genres: using the photo in an exaggerated scale depicts the manually created objects or unattractive attributes of the ordinary.

The work was presented in the project curator Natalia Filonenko called “School of Painting” at the art center I Gallery in Kyiv, 2010. The artist continues to experiment with paint from tubes under the lens for macro photography. Using a method known in contemporary photography – physical modeling of object images, it creates prominence. Plastic substance is oil paint was the same material with which the artist managed to recreate the shape of the plasma of the solar disk.
